Syntegra Consulting appointed energy consultants to conduct a technical design validation and energy audit for a newly built 4 bedroom detached property in Guildford. The property consists of 3No. borehole serving a Ground Source Heat Pump system, trace heating, zonal underfloor heating and air-conditioning. The report outlined benchmark electrical consumption data against design and actual consumption data, design validation and energy efficiency recommendations.

Implementation update of Display Energy Certificates(DECs) in all commercial buildings

In the UK, the Government introduced a requirement for annual renewal of DECs -this is not in the Directive itself. Another innovation was the added feature that DECs had to be based on actual metered daa. Indeed, studies by the Department of Communities and Local Government(CLG) show a positive net present value compared to the 10 year renewal envisaged in the final version of the Directive.
