Kinetics and Prudential in £100m solar panel deal

It has been publicised by the Building magazine, that Kinetics is considering a joint venture with a number of housing associations. They have signed a £100m deal with Prudential to build up to 20,000 solar panels on the roofs of social housing blocks, despite the government’s regime. By joining with Prudential they can take advantage of the minimum price for energy sold back to the national grid, meaning cheaper power for the tenants.

UK-Green Building Council calls on industry to take carbon lead

Paul King, chief executive of UK-GBC said that the sustainability body is encouraging tackling carbon emissions with the profit and the independence that it brings, not having to rely on the government to implement change.

Syntegra consulting appointed energy consultants to undertake the energy and M&E services strategy for one unit development in Richmond. The site consists of existing bungalow which will be demolished and a new build house put in its place. The dwelling will all be built to a minimum of code level 4 standards in relation to the code for sustainable homes assessment scheme. The development will achieve a 20% CO2 reduction via its renewable strategy.

Syntegra Consulting were appointed code for sustainable home assessors for a new build residential property in West Wittering, West Sussex. The property consists of three stories, including: basement, swimming pool and gymnasium area. The property will achieve code level 3 against the CSH technical guide November 2010.
