Syntegra Consulting appointed to undertake commercial energy assessments on a light industrial site circa 17 Acres with circa 15 ancillary buildings of various usage types.

Point of Interest: A dedicated plantroom/boiler room building unit assimilated Carbon Dioxide from the Main boilers and distributed to the vegetation being produced on site via a system of perforated polythene tubes. Vegetation are watered and fertilised under precise controlled conditions.

The Renewable Energy Directive – Sustainable Biofuels

The Renewable Energy Directive (RED), put in place by the European Union will come into effect by the beginning of 2011. It sets the UK a target of 15% renewable energy in the overall energy supply. Meeting these targets will be crucial if the UK is to begin making the difficult transition to a low carbon economy and meet the government’s commitments to reduce Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions.
