It is becoming apparent that EPC’s are becoming a vital part of the decision-making process for landlords and tenants.
The Energy Efficiency Partnership (EEPH) highlighted that almost 1/3rd or tenants who moved afer October 2008 stated that the EPC was used when selecting a property to rent. Circa 23% of tenants requested the Landlord to provide an EPC, furthermore the same 23% went on to request the landlord to make changes to the property as a result.
Subsequently, this has led to 60% of landlords being concerned about the energy rating of the EPC with 20% being very concerned.
